Building An Affiliate Website

building an affiliate websiteBuilding an Affiliate Website can be confusing. If you want to set up a business or company on the internet, you should always start like in a normal life, with small steps and go on step by step. You should keep track of everything you do to be well organized. Building an affiliate website does not differ much from the construction of any other company.

The theme of the website / niche site:

Knowledge + enthusiasm + perseverance = success

You can get new ideas by brainstorming. To get your thoughts and new ideas organized, use mind mapping. The topic of your website should be your interest because it is easier to write something you are excited about. It is almost impossible to write about a topic that you do not know or you do not care about. In a case like that you don’t achieve much profit with your website and it is also very difficult to give detailed and honest product recommendations. The user will immediately notice that you have no idea of the subject and will leave your website quickly. Do you still want to write about a topic that you do not know about because the demand is very high and you’re interested? Then study your field. You can learn all important things through books, eBooks and also by searching on Google. Highly recommended are the “Dummies Books” on Amazon. You  can also find something via the iTunes store or the Amazon Kindle store for very little money and about almost every imaginable subject.

If you have found a topic which you are really interested in and fascinated about then you can write good and exceptional texts and provide value to each reader. Your readers will definitely revisit your site.

Frame of the website

The theme of your website determines the domain name. The name should tell the visitor (your potential customer) what exactly your website is about. Well, you still need a web host and afterwards you can start with the design of your blog. Here at the Affiliate Marketing Lab, we recommend Bluehost because they are not only cheap but the registration of your domain name is included in the price. Better yet,  you can start immediately. Content

The content of your website should offer an added value to the customer. He must be so absorbed and lost in your articles, that he cannot get enough and wants more to read. You must stand out from the crowd of other affiliate websites. You can only accomplish this by enabling the visitor valuable and true information. Later you can get help from others when they write articles on your topics. But don’t forget: Make sure that you provide high quality to your customers.

Earn money with the website

Now it’s time to find merchants and sellers with affiliate programs. Check and get information about various products and offer only goods that you already know or which you can recommend with a good conscience because other products of this manufacturer are known to you. Many affiliate programs offer text links, banners and a lot more that can be embedded in your website.

Find Partner programs

One of the best known affiliate program is Google Adsense. But there are some others.

Here is a small selection:

www.shareasale.com

www.commissionjunction.com

www.clickbank.com

www.avantlink.com

Sign up for one or more networks which have the merchants you need for your business. Clickbank.com is also available in other languages and is highly recommended because more and more Internet marketers sell digital products and pay a high commission (often they pay well over 50%). Depending on what products you offer you also should include digital products to your list.

Then you attach your affiliate links in the product contributed reviews. The more product reviews and products your website gets the more sales you’ll achieve. No matter what product you chose in the end it should be sold.

Get Visitors to your website

There are many possibilities to get visitors (traffic) on your website. The content marketing (publication of articles and reviews) is a long term opportunity through Google to get traffic. Google will sort your website in its index for various keywords and puts it for search queries available to the users as soon as Google has “read” your site.

Of course you can also make use of paid advertising such as Facebook or Google Adwords to publish articles on other blogs and get introduced to a new group of users in the forums. You could write useful posts and link them in your signature to your website. Again – be creative. Promote your website; there are no bounds for your imagination. Maybe first you could hand out some flyers or postcards in your city? Or you can send a short message on your website to your existing customers? As I said, there are endless ideas for how you can generate traffic.

If you need someone who does some brainstorming for you, we look forward to hear from you or join the Affiliate Marketing Lab

  1. Howdy! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my iphone4. I’m trying
to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem.
If you have any recommendations, please share. Thanks!

Thanks for this helpful article Monja.

Personally, I feel creating content is the core concept of building a good affiliate website. Not only are you providing value to your readers, but you’re also helping them make good purchases.
